Compliance Investigator, China

The Role (What to Expect)The Compliance Investigator, China, will be an important member of the Global Compliance team in Tesla’s Legal organization. The professional in this role, based in Shanghai, will investigate allegations that Tesla employees or business partners violated local laws, regulations, or Tesla’s internal policies and procedures. The role also supports Tesla’s compliance culture and ensures that Tesla employees conduct business in an ethical manner. Success in this role requires agility, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, excellent judgment, and great collaboration and communication skills. This role will report to Tesla’s Managing Compliance Counsel, China.Responsibilities (What You’ll Do) Lead internal investigations of potential violations of law or Tesla policy in partnership with Tesla’s compliance counsel. Conduct all relevant aspects of the investigative process, from analyzing allegations and engaging with reporters to data review and analysis and interviewing witnesses and subjects, to writing finalizing investigations and preparing investigative reports. Work with other Tesla functions, such as Internal Audit, Human Resources, and InfoSec, to achieve investigative objectives. Recommend remediation measures based on investigative findings. Support Tesla’s overall Global Compliance program in China.Requirements 3+ years of experience conducting internal investigations. Excellent interviewing, analytic, and organizational skills. Ability to work well both autonomously and collaboratively and effectively manage and prioritize competing investigative tasks in a fast-paced, challenging environment. Excellent communication and collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with others as part of an investigative team. Fluency in Mandarin and a business level to near native level fluency in English (written and spoken).
