City employees enjoy a work environment that encourages professional development and promotes a healthy work-life balance.About This PositionWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Compliance Officer to join our proactive Compliance team.This role is pivotal in promoting and delivering a progressive and effective compliance service that meets the needs of the City and the expectations of our community.In this role, you willInvestigate alleged regulatory breaches under the Planning and Development Act 2005, Building Act 2011, and other relevant legislation and local lawsConduct private swimming pool and spa inspections to ensure compliance with prescribed standardsProvide accurate, timely, and customer-focused advice on compliance matters, upholding confidentiality and integrity in all interactionsGather evidence and resolve issues through mediation, negotiation or legal processesThe salary range will be determined based on qualifications and experience.What We Are Looking ForTo be successful, you must be able to demonstrate:Ability to interpret and apply various legislation and compile reports with recommendations (Level 5) or highly developed ability to analyse, interpret and apply legislation to complex issues (Level 6)Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders and the communityKnowledge of conflict resolution techniques and ability to employ themCompetence in using IT systems and applications relevant to the roleExperience in a similar role will be highly regarded.Essential RequirementsCurrent driver's licence.Current National Police Clearance (no older than three months).
