Job SummaryThe Configuration Management Specialist is responsible for daily activities and operation in configuration control for documentation, systems and processes within engineering.The candidate must be a US citizen or permanent resident. The ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Security Clearance or holding a security clearance is an advantage.Primary ResponsibilitiesOversee the administration of the PLM system. Manages; user accounts, access rights, business processes (in collaboration with Engineering management), storage, training and access to technical data evolution and improvement of PLM processesCreates, tests, and implements business processes and workflows within PLM and creates related standard operating procedures as well as providing training to employees.Collaborates with IT department and PLM product support to identify, analyze, execute and coordinate activities relating to system upgrades and error resolution.Directs and overseas the activities of the Change Control Board and the Engineering Change processes to assure that engineering changes are complete, accurate and have completed the change control cycle.Directs and overseas the activities of the Material Obsolescence process in collaboration with the Engineering Change processes to assure that obsolescence issues are reviewed and implemented effectively with support from production, quality, purchasing, lab and engineering.Acts a chairperson for the Change Control Board and Material Obsolescence board.To create, implement and maintain formula BOM's in PLM and that they are consistent with the ERP system.Responsible for all configuration management, Technical Data transfer and data control processes and shall be the focal for all related audits both internal and external.Maintain, schedule and log all work going through the engineering change process. Maintain real time status of on-going requests.Shall be part of the Engineering Jurisdiction and Classification team responsible for the classification of products in accordance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)Other tasks/projects assigned.Education/Previous Experience RequirementsAssociate degree or higher preferableMust have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a design or manufacturing environmentExperience in creating and writing procedures and developing process improvementsPrevious experience with configuration management software would be a plusMust have good oral, written communications and have a high level of moral and ethical codesAbility to effectively communicate with all levels of the company including internal and external customersStrong attention to detail and ability to set priorities to meet time-sensitive project deadlinesMust have excellent organizational skills, ability to set and meet deadlines, and self-motivated Intermediate level in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) and other standard (Customer specified) applicationsKirkhill, Inc. is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
