Hiring decisions are based on equal opportunities with each of the 3 partner companies of the joint venture.About the ProjectCross Fraser Partnership (CFP) is a Bouygues Construction Canada Inc., Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas Canada Ltd., and Pomerleau BC Inc. general partnership that has been selected to collaboratively deliver a new, eight-lane immersed tube tunnel that will replace the existing George Massey Tunnel on Highway 99.Position Overview:The Construction Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and managing various aspects of the construction project, ensuring its completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role involves detailed planning, coordination, and monitoring of construction activities, and requires collaboration with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop detailed construction plans and schedules, outlining project timelines, resources, and milestones.Oversee and manage day-to-day construction activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution.Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and contracts to ensure accurate implementation of design plans.Prepare and present project status reports, including progress, challenges, and risk assessments.Manage and supervise construction teams, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.Identify and resolve construction issues, making recommendations for changes or improvements as needed.Ensure effective communication and collaboration among all project stakeholders.Monitor project budgets and control costs, ensuring financial performance aligns with project goals.Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and codes of practice.Implement and maintain best practices in construction management to optimize project outcomes.Education and qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.3+ years of experience in construction engineering or management, preferably within the civil engineering or infrastructure sectors.Right to work in Canada.Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration is an asset.Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and processes.Proficiency in construction management software and tools.Excellent project management and organizational skills.Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality standards.Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations in construction.Why You Should ApplyUp to 5% RRSP matching.Career advancement, training, and education opportunities.Travel allowance.Four weeks vacation.The expected salary range for this opportunity is $100,000 – $140,000. Please note that salaries may vary depending on the candidate’s experience and geographical location.
