Position/Project Overview: Project Solutions Inc. is seeking a Construction Management Representative to join a National Park Service (NPS) project entailing the demolition and site restoration of six existing structures within the park, including four houses and two garages.
The scope of work includes hazardous material abatement, demolition of all building components and foundations, removal of associated utilities and debris, and restoration of the sites to their natural condition. Site restoration will involve backfilling, grading for proper drainage, topsoil placement, seeding, erosion control, and tree planting. Certain structures require special handling due to deteriorated conditions or environmental sensitivities, and existing access routes must be carefully protected and restored. This role is contingent upon award of project. Responsibilities and Duties: Provide technical assistance and support to CO during construction.
Read, interpret and understand the construction contract plans and specificationsArrange, attend and facilitate a variety of meetings, including weekly meetings at the project site. Document issues encountered and problems experienced with the construction contractor.
Review contractor's baseline and progress schedulesDraft project related correspondence for NPS to review and issuanceUnderstand and document inspections during and post construction as well as mock-up inspectionsMonitor Construction Contractor compliance with Accident Prevention Plans (APP), Asbestos hazard Abatement Plan (AHAP), and applicable safety requirementsInspect the work of the construction contractor for progress, workmanship, quality and conformance with contract documents, applicable building codes and safety standardsDeliver reports, reviews, evaluations, design work, etc. to COReview, analyze, and assist in preparing cost estimatesReview and process Construction Contractor's RFIs and assist in resolution, draft response, tracking, and follow upRequired Education, Knowledge and Skills:
Minimum four (4) year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, Construction Management or other related field preferredMinimum of five (5) years of relevant construction and/or engineering work experience demonstrating knowledge and experience in construction managementKnowledge in construction practices including applicable building codes, applicable safety regulations, cost breakdown estimating and negotiating, and technical writingPrevious experience with demolition and HAZMAT abatementOSHA 30 construction safety training preferredAbility to read and interpret plans, schedules, and other specificationsWritten and verbal communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skillsStrong computer and technology literacy to utilize PCs and mobile devices.
Knowledge of software including MS Suite (including MS Project), Adobe Acrobat, and any other software programs typically utilizedMaintain a valid driver's licenseAbility to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment on large, complex construction projectsAbility to walk or climb on a daily basis to observe contract performanceMust be able to physically operate a motor vehicle without danger to self or to others.
