Job Description

Location: Greater Toronto Area Sector: Water & WastewaterAt ASCO Construction, the Construction Project Scheduler is responsible for developing, updating, and managing project schedules across multiple projects, ensuring they meet the contractual requirements and timelines. The Construction Project Scheduler is also responsible to assist and support Project Managers in developing their project schedules, to educate and mentor staff, to provide continuous improvement to the company, and to work with management to mitigate risk with respect to scheduling and planning.Some of the Construction Project Scheduler responsibilities include but are not limited to:Schedule & Planning duties and responsibilitiesDevelop and implement consistent scheduling and planning procedures to be adhered to by the project teams.Champion the standardization of project schedules across multiple contracts and contract types.Establish the conceptual scope of schedule forecasts and studies.Prepare and analyze comparisons of scope, quantities and data between the projects.Perform schedule development duties to include establishing the work breakdown structure (WBS), determining the work activity duration, establishing the proper workflow logic ties, and developing the required job expenditure.Evaluate subcontractor schedules and identify workarounds or potential schedule improvements.Aligns the schedule with the Owner’s schedule of values in preparation of progress billings. Generates the progress billing forecast curve.General duties and responsibilities: Educate, mentor and train new staff and project managers in planning and scheduling activities.Meet with Senior Management at least bi-monthly, or as often as required to ensure that proper information flows in both directions and that stated objectives are adhered to.Maintain exceptional relationships with external stakeholders such as owners, subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and engineers.Demonstrated understanding of project controls core processes and procedures including, cost control, planning, risk analysis, estimating, trend reporting and information management.The preferred candidate will have:Minimum fifteen (15) years’ experience as a Construction Project Scheduler.Experience in schedule and planning in the construction of water and wastewater facilities over $100 million.Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or any related field.Expert level in the use of Primavera P6 or MS Project software to develop Critical Path Project schedules complete with milestones.Technical and practical comprehension of engineering, procurement, and construction functions and general business techniques.Ability to understand task dependencies, deadlines, time windows, and resource availability.Employment BenefitsCompetitive employee compensationHealth, Dental, and Disability benefits programEmployee Family Assistance ProgramMatching RRSP ProgramProfit sharingPerformance and merit-based recognitionOn the job trainingEducation reimbursement programProfessional and career development opportunitiesASCO Construction is an Inclusive and Equal Opportunity Employer, and employment selection decisions are based on merit, qualifications, and abilities.
