This role provides the opportunity to sharpen your consultancy skills, develop deep industry expertise and engage with a wide range of clients within the payment ecosystem.You will participate in engagements for our regional and global clients. With our focused team of payment enthusiasts working in a start-up environment, we execute projects for the world’s largest brands. From enterprise merchants like Mercedes, FIFA, and IKEA to payment brands like Riverty, Floa, Visa, Mastercard and leading FinTech’s such as Enfuce and Wirex. Typically, you will own responsibility for a deliverable or workstream for projects in market research, value proposition design, vendor selection, go-to-market strategy and target operating model design. This will allow you to deepen your understanding of different players within the payments value chain (e.g. PSP’s, acquirers, schemes, APM’s, global retailers, digital platforms etc.). PaymentGenes Consultancy focuses on three target markets: Merchants, Mobility and Banking & FinTech. Your responsibilities As a Consultant you will manage and execute project deliverables and/or project workstreams (in collaboration with your Project Manager and clients) and collaborate with the rest of the team on market engagement and Business Development.As a seasoned consultant you know that no single day is the same, however typical daily tasks at PaymentGenes include:Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis (e.g. desk research, interviews, data analysis, etc.) including conclusions and recommendationsDevelop client-ready deliverables in Word, Powerpoint and Excel (e.g. project updates, SteerCo’s, final presentations, reports, business cases, etc.) Present your recommendations to client stakeholders in 1:1 meetings, workshops and SteerCo’sIndependently plan and manage your own work, including expectation management and alignment with your project team and clientInitiate and execute development of thought leadership articles, perspectives and insights via PaymentGenes channels, events and partner mediaThis is a great fit if you are passionate about fintech and payments, are excited about working in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment and are seeking the opportunity to work with international clients across the industry (from start-up’s to the largest payments, mobility, retail and platform providers globally). Your profileTo excel in this role, you'll need to bring a dynamic blend of experience and skills and a Consultancy background. You have participated in client-projects and have had exposure to multiple strategy projects within FinTech or Payments. You have an understanding of and interest in the payments and fintech industry. You love to take responsibility, build propositions, activate people and deliver results on time, and you thrive in an entrepreneurial environment. The key competencies you possess are:2 - 4 years working experience in Management, Strategy or Technology Consultancy (either internal consultancy or consultancy firm)Exposure to or proven interest in financial services, FinTech and/or paymentsExperience in delivery of Strategy projects for senior level client stakeholdersA structured way of working, able to design and implement processes Ready to work independently, reporting into the Practice Lead Keen on developing industry relations with our partners and prospectsOpen-minded and inclusive team player by natureFluent in English & Dutch is a plusSelf-motivated and always walks that extra mileBased in or near Amsterdam Note: we expect to be hiring for different roles in the following months, so please feel free to reach out if you are enthusiastic but do not completely match the requirements.
