Our client is a prestigious company operating in the Oil & Gas sector.
FUNCTIONThe candidate will be responsible for implementing and monitoring Company and Contractor Environmental Management Systems, processes, and procedures to ensure achievement of company and project Environmental targets; carry out day-to-day activities related to the Project Environmental Verification and Assurance monitoring program; carry out day-to-day activities related to the wider in-field environmental monitoring; compile and consolidate Company and Contractors Environmental data (as per the required periodicity); undertake regular inspections of the various Company and Contractor construction work sites or project components; carry out environmental audits (Company and Contractors locations); interact and liaise with contractors regarding their environmental performance, Verification and Assurance monitoring, environmental reporting and follow up in terms of environmental actions to be undertaken; ensure all unsafe acts and conditions are recorded on the company observation system (on the day of the event) along with immediate actions taken and any further actions required to prevent recurrence; provide assurance at sites that Company, and Contractor conduct thorough, open and transparent incident investigations and where required, lead Company Incident Investigations; assist with logistical arrangements for environmental monitoring and specialist site visits, as and when necessary; assist with day-to-day project management tasks, as and when necessary; assist with developing necessary monitoring reports; support HSE applications for Return of Experience, Management of Change and continual improvement; promote environmental culture and awareness aligned with the company environmental referential (Inductions, toolbox, meetings); support the development of environmental reporting tools as necessary; ensures availability of clear and concise written handovers (for positional back-to-back).
RequirementsBachelor's degree or diploma in Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Ecology or any closely related field;Minimum of 5 years relevant experience required (construction, operation or similar);Good knowledge of Mozambique Environmental legislation, knowledge of environmental industry best practices is a plus;Strong interpersonal and communication skills;Excellent verbal and written communication skills;Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-cultural situations and with cross-discipline professionals;Fluency in Portuguese and strong working knowledge of English, with the ability to write professionally in both languages;Computer skills including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required;Mozambican nationalityBenefitsThe possibility of working in a Company that offers salary conditions compatible with the level of experience and level of responsibility of the role, as well as opportunities for personal development.
