The Content Producer will drive that transformation by setting the publication’s tone, rhythm, and analytical depth.Position OverviewThe Content Producer provides editorial leadership for Extractives Daily steering coverage, producing original journalism, and ensuring each edition reflects authority, accuracy, and clarity.This position suits a business-minded journalist who understands the economic and policy dynamics behind Africa’s extractive industries. You will research and produce news, in-depth features, and analytical articles that unpack market movements, policy reforms, and emerging opportunities across the continent.Extractives Daily is a digital, text-based publication distributed via newsletter and online channels, with readership spanning industry professionals, investors, and public-sector decision-makers. The role is on-site in Nairobi to enable close collaboration with the Executive Director, research, and data teams.Key Responsibilities (Indicative)Provide editorial leadership for Extractives Daily, maintaining consistent quality, accuracy, and voice.Produce daily news briefs and weekly in-depth features focused on Africa’s extractive sectors.Develop and manage a rolling editorial calendar aligned to Extractive Insight’s research themes.Integrate data and research inputs from internal teams into stories, ensuring evidence-based analysis.Oversee layout, tone, and visual coherence of each edition in coordination with the in-house designer.Track readership metrics (open rates, click-throughs, subscriber growth) and prepare monthly analytics summaries.Cultivate industry sources and monitor developments, reports, and corporate disclosures relevant to the extractive economy.Uphold journalistic ethics, accuracy and impartiality in all published material.
