Waverley CourtSalary: £33,287 - £39,129Hours: 36 per week, 52 weeksAn exciting opportunity has become available for a flexible and dynamic individual to join the Children, Education and Justice Services (CEJS) Commissioning Team as a Contract Adviser.This key supporting role contributes to the development, evaluation, negotiation and implementation of strategic plans and policies for all commissioned services within the CEJS Service Area.The successful candidate will be able to work to tight timescales and will require strong communication and organisational skills, alongside robust IT competency.Knowledge of the GIRFEC framework, Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014, and the national commitment to Keep the Promise will be required. An understanding of the Edinburgh Imperatives, Edinburgh Learns for Life, Finance for Equity vision, mission and goals as the strategic frameworks for education, in pursuance of the City Vision 2050 would be beneficial.The successful candidate will be able to evidence an extensive knowledge of the goods and service requirements in Social Work, Education, Lifelong Learning and Wider Achievement team.Key Areas Of Work IncludeSupporting work to ensure that all commissioned services meet the statutory requirements of the Council and deliver effective services based on the Council priorities reflecting the demographic and service needs of the learners and wider client groups.Participating in the collection of specialist, detailed knowledge of current practice within the client groups. This will include spend analysis and contract research of existing suppliers.Contract monitoring and evaluating the outcomes of commissioned services to ensure organisations are fulfilling their contractual service outputs and obligations and meeting customer need.Promoting good practice across the Directorate through contributing to the development and monitoring of detailed service standards and practice guidanceThe successful candidate will be required to obtain a Basic Disclosure Scotland certificate prior to commencing.This position is subject to Basic Disclosure check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check.
