Contract Support Specialist, Clinical Trial Support Unit

Job Description

Primary PurposeThe Contract Support Specialist provides administrative support and coordination for clinical trial contracts managed by the CTSU. The role supports the review, tracking, and movement of contracts, while maintaining key relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners. This 0.5 FTE position is focused on ensuring contracts are processed efficiently and that liaison functions between partners and the CTSU remain effective. Nature of Work As a member of the CTSU Contracts team, the Contract Support Specialist reports directly to the Director of Research and works closely with the Contract Specialist. The role requires the ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage competing priorities, and exercise sound judgment in communication with internal stakeholders and external partners such as the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) and Saskatchewan Cancer Agency (SCA).Accountabilities Facilitate the contracts review process with internal and external researchers, administrators, and others Track and move contracts forward efficiently and effectively, ensuring timely progress and maintaining navigation of relationships with external partners including SHA and SCA Act as the primary liaison with external partners (e.g., industry sponsors, SHA, SCA) and internal campus offices (e.g., Research Ethics Board, Finance), as well as other CTSU teams Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or a related field 1–3 years of experience in a legal, healthcare, or medical research setting preferred Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to exercise tact and diplomacy Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively in a team environment Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and strong internet research skills Skills Exceptional organizational and time management skills Demonstrated aptitude for teamwork and collaborative problem-solving Sound judgment, discretion, and professional integrity Strong attention to detail with the ability to anticipate and resolve issues proactively Department: Clinical Trial Support UnitStatus: Term 1 year with the possibility of extension or becoming permanentEmployment Group: ASPAShift: Mon-Fri, 8:00-12:30Full Time Equivalent (FTE): 0.5Salary: The salary range, based on 1.0 FTE, is $53,091.00 - 82,954.00 per annum.
