Job Description

The Controller will oversee day-to-day accounting operations and provide financial support to operational leaders across multiple markets. This role requires a strong accounting foundation—particularly in environments involving acquisitions. The Controller will manage core accounting processes, support financial reporting, build and develop teams, and ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities:Manage core accounting functions—including AP, AR, lease accounting, and routine transactional activities across multiple states.Ensure accurate, timely processing of all transactions in accordance with GAAP and internal policiesServe as financial liaison to operational leadership, delivering financial statements on schedule and coordinating intercompany reconciliations and workers’ compensation accounting with the parent company.Lead audit preparation for assigned operating units and produce ad hoc financial analyses as needed.Oversee general ledger activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.Supervise accounting staff, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback; build and oversee offshore teams supporting general accounting and AP.Support acquisition integrations by transitioning banking, AP, and general accounting workflows from acquired entities into corporate systems.Contribute to preparation of financial statements—including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow—and ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in reporting.Review staff-prepared flux analyses to verify financial accuracy and completeness.Strengthen internal controls and act as a primary contact for external auditors.Assist with development of detailed annual budgets for assigned operating units.QualificationsBachelor’s degree required; CPA strongly preferred7-10 years of experience in accounting, with experience in both public accounting (audit) and corporate rolesNetSuite ERP experience requiredWork cross functionally with department leads throughout the company Experience working across multiple locationsEffective verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume environmentStrong attention to detail, reliability, organization, and initiativeStrong work ethic and eagerness to develop within the industry
