As a member of the Integration team, this role contributes across the entire project lifecycle—from early coordination and planning through factory and site acceptance testing, culminating in final client delivery. Integration is the final step before handover, making this position essential to ensuring high-quality outcomes and client satisfaction.Operating at the intersection of technology and art, the Controls Integrator helps bring innovative shows and spectacles to life. This role blends technical execution, project coordination, and client interaction, while continuing to build foundational knowledge across TAIT’s disciplines through hands-on experience.With growing independence and leadership, the Controls Integrator assumes responsibility for a broader range of routine integration tasks, applying technical skills and experience to meet project expectations. The role requires a solid understanding of controls and mechanical systems, proficiency in key technical areas, and the ability to lead scopes within larger projects. It also demands safe working practices, logistical awareness, and the ability to travel independently.Over time, the Controls Integrator is expected to demonstrate increasing autonomy, technical competency, and leadership—building a strong reputation within their market and contributing meaningfully to TAIT’s collaborative, multidisciplinary project teams.Essential Responsibilities & AccountabilitiesLead integration efforts from shop to siteCoordinate across rigging, staging, and automation disciplinesTroubleshoot issues and ensure system readinessFulfill shop testing and setup responsibilitiesAct as technical lead for defined scopes within larger projectsCommunicate frequently with project teams about progress, risks, and technical challengesRepresent integration in planning, estimating, and client-facing meetingsCollaborate with internal teams on post-project activities, including maintenance and supportCreate and maintain technical documentation and inspection reportsContribute to internal standards and process improvementsParticipate in knowledge-sharing and contribute to team learning materialsPromote safe working practices and uphold TAIT’s safety protocolsStay current with tools, technologies, and integration techniquesDemonstrate a strong willingness to “wear many hats” as you may be asked to move between new project delivery and post installation support such as break/fix, inspections, and maintenance.Lead and assist in integrating new elements or projects into existing theme park environments.Play a key role in executing quick-turn local and regional projects.Remain flexible in scheduling as client needs can be unpredictable.Travel approximately 99 days per year.Minimum QualificationsTo perform the essential responsibilities, individuals must have the following level of education and experience, or equivalent combination. Additionally, the following certifications, knowledge, skills, or physical requirements are necessary for the position.Education: GED/ High School Diploma required2+ years in a controls or adjacent technical roleStrong theatre/entertainment experienceExperience with fabrication, rigging, hydraulics, and mechanical systems in live entertainment environments a plus.Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documentationStrong written and verbal communication skillsTechnological curiosity and problem-solving mindsetComfortable working in varied entertainment environments (e.g., shops, backstage, catwalks, cruise ships)Working Conditions and Physical EffortRequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is required to frequently walk, bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat, stoop, and kneel each day. Specific requirements are:Must be able to stand for extended periods of timeMust be able to lift or move 70 lbs. with or without assistance.Must be able to pull or push 140 lbs.Work Conditions Of The RoleWork conditions may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks which require following basic safety precautions.Must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work within or visit areas where required.
