This role is crucial in fostering trust in the Council and will lead a high-performing, multidisciplinary team committed to continuous improvement and effective communication practises.The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing the Council’s Corporate Communications Plan, overseeing functions including brand management, public relations, digital channels, and internal communications. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership to lead the delivery of compelling content and campaigns that align with organisational priorities and community needs.Candidate ProfileWe are seeking an experienced communications professional with a proven track record in managing corporate communications in complex organisations. The ideal candidate will possess strong strategic thinking and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration and influence across various levels.Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary corporate communications teams in large organisations.Proficient in developing and implementing communication strategies that effectively engage diverse audiences.Strong understanding of public relations, media engagement, crisis communications and evolving digital communication trends.In addition to your expertise in communication functions, you will need to demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and emotional intelligence, with the ability to navigate complex environments while fostering a culture of trust and collaboration.
