DescriptionThe full-time starting salary is normally £35,331.00 per annum, with progression available in post to £39,002.00 per annum.Grade: EContract: Full-Time, PermanentBCU is seeking two proactive and organised Communications professionals to join our high-performing Communications team. Working collaboratively with colleagues across BCU, you will play an active role in communicating key areas of our strategy - with a particular focus on employability, enterprise, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, an Mathematics).The Corporate Communications Officer will play a key role in delivering Birmingham City University’s strategic and corporate communications agenda. Working collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders across the University, the postholder will draft, edit, and publish content across a range of channels, including social media, ensuring all communications are accurate, accessible, and aligned with the University’s strategic goals. You will need strong, versatile communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience or awareness of media relations would be beneficial.Your Responsibilities Will IncludeWorking with colleagues across the university to plan and deliver communications that support strategic prioritiesDrafting, editing, and publishing engaging content across a range of channels, ensuring it is clear, accurate, and accessible.Building relationships with internal stakeholders to identify and promote stories that reflect the University’s achievements and ambitions.Supporting the delivery of change communications for major initiatives, ensuring staff and students are well informed and engaged.Monitoring the performance of communications activity and contribute to evaluation and reporting.The Corporate Communications Officer WillHave experience of developing and delivering communications for a range of audiences.Possess skills in writing and editing clear, engaging content for multiple channels.Have experience of working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.Have knowledge of communications best practice and accessibility standards.Be able to demonstrate skills in planning and delivering communications for strategic projects or initiatives.Birmingham City University is deeply committed to equality, diversity, and inclusivity at all levels in the organisation, and to addressing underrepresentation in our workforce to ensure we are truly representative of the community we serve.
