We are looking for a well-rounded corporate lawyer!The PositionWe are looking for a well-rounded corporate lawyer with experience within either capital markets, financing, M&A, joint ventures, shipping, energy and/or insurance with a sound understanding of corporate governance. The right candidate is proactive and a self-starter thriving in a fast-paced environment.The role reports to the Deputy General Counsel and is part of the company's Group Legal & Compliance department. The department consists of 13 in-house lawyers and advisors who assist the group with legal and strategic advice across business areas.Our legal team plays a key role in supporting the company’s strategic and operational goals by providing clear, risk-based and solution-oriented legal advice on a wide range of corporate matters. We work closely with management and various operational and corporate functions across the business globally to manage legal risk, ensure compliance, and safeguard the company’s interests in a dynamic market.This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic legal and compliance department in a company with a global footprint with continuing growth ambitions.Key responsibilities include:Providing legal advice and support on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, including capital markets, financing, M&A, joint ventures, shipping, and insuranceDrafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex contracts and transaction documentsSupporting corporate governance activitiesCollaborating with internal stakeholders across corporate and operational departments to ensure legal risks are identified and managed effectivelyContributing to the development and implementation of internal policies, procedures, and training programsAssisting in dispute resolution and litigation managementProviding strategic legal input to senior management to support business decisions and growth initiativesAssisting with the management of the company’s global insurance programProviding legal support in relation to charterparties and other maritime contractsQualificationsMaster’s degree in lawMinimum 5 years of post-qualification experience, ideally gained in a reputable law firm (alternatively in combination with work in an in-house legal department)Solid experience within one or more of the following disciplines: capital markets, financing, M&A, joint ventures, shipping, and insuranceExperience within offshore wind is a plusProven ability to manage complex legal matters independently and provide clear, commercially focused adviceExcellent drafting and negotiation skills, with attention to detail and risk awarenessStrong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and culturesFluent in English written and verballyWhat you will get at DeepOceanWe offer a dynamic and collaborative work environment where teamwork in a positive atmosphere with a “can do” mentality.
