Corporate Quality Engineer

Job Description

The Corporate Quality Engineer is responsible for applying problem solving skills to address and resolve recurring, high-impact problems with both internal and external customers. This role requires flexibility to travel to JAC manufacturing plants and supplier locations as necessary. This role will lead cross-functional teams on the floor to identify root causes, implement corrective actions and establish systems and processes that ensure long-term product and process stability.Key Responsibilities:Lead and implement process improvements with measurable impact. Coach and mentor teams on problem-solving techniques. Own and continuously improve the Problem Solving Manual and related training. Establish systems to sustain success and translate guidance into actionable results. Support functional groups with technical expertise. Participate in customer meetings on warranty and quality issues. Conduct supplier audits for qualification and ongoing management. Skills & Competencies:Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Self-motivated and able to work independently. Collaborative with the ability to influence teams. Ability to coach, mentor, and train others effectively. Knowledge of Class A surfaces and strong analytical/problem-solving skills. Requirements and Qualifications:Bachelor of Science Degree in a technical field or similar experience 5+ years in an automotive manufacturing engineering roleSix Sigma Green BeltExperience with Class A SurfacesAbility to develop/mentor teams along with developing KPI’s to track progressExperience with customer portalsAbility to travel (via airplane or automobile) for extended periods of timeSolid working knowledge of Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement Tools (e.g. 5Why, QRQC, Kaizen, Fishbone, 5S) Working knowledge of relevant legal and customer standards Profound knowledge and understanding of relevant Quality Management Systems, Quality Methods & Tools, customer specific requirements and their implications Strong, data-driven decision-maker, results-oriented, analytical thinking Strong communicator, able to address different audiences effectively Excellent PC skills, good knowledge of software applications used in Manufacturing (e.g. SAP, statistical software) Knowledge of TS16949 requirements and internal auditing and Class A surfaces
