Cost Accountant

About the Role:We’re looking for a Costing Accountant who goes beyond the numbers — someone who combines strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of manufacturing processes. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate, transparent, and efficient cost control across our operations. You’ll partner closely with Production and Operations teams to enhance cost visibility, identify inefficiencies, and drive continuous improvement (MUDA elimination) through reliable costing data and insights.What You’ll Do1. Costing & Process AccuracyMaintain and update accurate standard cost models for all SKUs, including BOMs, routing, and overhead absorption.Conduct variance analysis (materials, yield, labor, and overhead) to identify root causes and corrective actions.Ensure cost allocations reflect actual production processes and operational realities.Continuously review and enhance cost accuracy within ERP systems.Collaborate with Production and Engineering teams to ensure timely updates on BOM and routing changes.2. Financial Planning & AnalysisSupport budgeting and forecasting activities through accurate cost projections and analysis.Prepare monthly cost performance reports (actual vs. standard vs. budget) with actionable insights.Perform cost simulations and margin analyses for new product launches, contract manufacturing, and make-or-buy decisions.Contribute to profitability analysis by SKU, production line, and customer segment.3. Continuous Improvement & MUDA ReductionIdentify cost-saving opportunities through yield improvements, process optimization, and automation initiatives.Participate in Kaizen and continuous improvement projects, ensuring financial benefits are tracked and reported.Develop cost and performance dashboards that highlight waste areas and improvement opportunities.4. Business PartneringWork closely with Operations to align cost data with on-ground realities.Provide meaningful cost insights and recommendations that support efficiency and waste reduction.Act as a bridge between Finance and Production to drive collaboration and operational alignment.5. Compliance, Audit & ReportingEnsure inventory and WIP valuation comply with MFRS/IFRS and internal policies.Maintain complete documentation for costing processes, revisions, and audit trails.Support internal and external audit requirements by ensuring accuracy and transparency of cost data.6.
