Role SummaryWe are seeking a Cost Control Superintendent to serve as the financial bridge between site operations and central management. This hands-on role safeguards cost discipline across OPEX and CAPEX, drives rigorous Budget vs. Actual (BvA) analysis, and tracks core operational KPIs. The Superintendent converts raw data from Production, Maintenance, and Procurement into clear, actionable insights for Site Finance and Group FP&A.Key ResponsibilitiesTo clarify scope, responsibilities are grouped into four pillars:1) Cost Management & Variance AnalysisTrack, analyze, and report costs by cost center for open-pit/underground mining, process plant, and auxiliaries (fuel depot, emulsion, tyres, workshops, catering/camp, etc.).Monitor unit costs (e.g., cost per tonne mined/processed/hauled) and performance KPIs (energy, consumables, availability/utilization); flag efficiency opportunities.Produce periodic management cost packs and KPI dashboards (Power BI / Qlik / Excel) with drill-down analyses.2) Budgeting, Forecasting & ReportingLead or provide critical support to the annual budget and periodic forecasts for the mine site.Prepare comprehensive BvA packages with clear variance commentary and corrective-action recommendations.3) CAPEX & Project ControlManage financial tracking for site CAPEX projects from approval workflow to execution.Monitor budget vs. actuals, track remaining funds, and ensure complete project close-out documentation.4) Data Integrity & Process ControlEnforce accurate/timely ERP coding (GL, cost center, activity codes); validate stock issues/returns, consumption, and fixed-asset movements.Ensure the P2P flow (PO → Contract → GRN → Invoice) is correctly captured to maintain visibility on commitments and accruals.Support internal/external audits through policy compliance and audit-ready documentation.Collaborate daily with Production, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Logistics to ensure complete, accurate data.QualificationsMust-HaveBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.5–7+ years of progressive cost-control experience in Mining, heavy Construction, or Energy/Oil & Gas.Strong command of cost accounting, BvA variance analysis, and cost-center management.Hands-on experience with a major ERP (SAP / Microsoft Dynamics / Oracle, etc.) and Advanced Excel (pivots, lookups, data modeling).Proven on-site capability: resilient, and able to collect/validate data directly from operations.Fluent English (written and spoken).Willing and able to work a high-tempo, rotation-based schedule with international travel.Preferred (Significant Advantage)Engineering background (Industrial, Mining, Mechanical) combined with finance exposure.Working proficiency in French.Experience in a Big Four firm or a large multinational / multi-entity reporting environment.Advanced dashboarding/automation (Power BI, Qlik, Advanced Excel—Power Query, macros).Familiarity with mine-planning/operations metrics (e.g., drill & blast, cycle time, fuel burn, availability, utilization).
