Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Cost Lead to join a rapidly growing consultancy firm and leading on a large scale construction project within the data centre sphere. This leadership role requires exceptional client management skills, strong technical expertise, and the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary client contact, developing trusted partnerships built on collaboration, transparency, and mutual success.Utilise business development skills to secure new clients and manage repeat work from existing accounts.Oversee strategic, high-value client projects, ensuring quality delivery and commercial success.Prepare cost estimates, cost plans, and bills of quantities (BoQs) for major developments.Demonstrate advanced proficiency in cost management software such as Cost X, Planswift, Cubicost, or equivalent systems.Lead, mentor, and manage a large team of cost managers and quantity surveyors.Develop and implement Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) plans to ensure project excellence.Show strong expertise in Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) packages, with working knowledge of MEPF works.Possess a solid understanding of global procurement processes for complex construction projects.Manage multiple projects and stakeholders across diverse regions and time zones.Support sales and marketing activities, including drafting proposals and client presentations.Cultivate long-term client relationships to support business growth and retention.Deliver training and mentorship to senior leaders and team members to drive continuous improvement.Promote a high-performance culture, ensuring the team delivers exceptional quality, accuracy, and client value.RequirementsExtensive experience in cost management, particularly within pre-construction stages, ideally gained in a consultancy environment.Proven experience on large-scale construction projects, preferably within data centres or life sciences sectors.At least 4 years of hands-on experience using Cost X or similar digital estimating platforms (e.g., Planswift, Cubicost, Candy, ZW CAD).Strong leadership capability with experience in building teams and nurturing trusted client relationships.Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, or Construction Management.Right to work in Belgium (candidates must already hold legal work eligibility).Professional chartership (MRICS or equivalent) is preferred, or active progress towards completion.Commercially astute with the ability to identify and pursue market opportunities.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong stakeholder engagement ability.Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing competing priorities effectively.Enthusiastic about teamwork and collaboration, fostering a culture of openness, purpose, and professional growth.
