Profile SnapshotTitle: Costing ManagerLocation: DubaiPosition Type: Full TimeReports To: Finance DirectorDepartment: FinanceWhat Will Your Day Look Like?Costing Manager will be responsible for overseeing the plant’s cost structure and financial performance, ensuring alignment with strategic and operational objectives. This includes leading budgeting, forecasting, and cost control processes, with a strong focus on product costing, variance analysis, and margin optimization.The role involves analyzing financial and operational data to identify cost drivers, trends, and variances, and providing actionable insights to support decision-making. The Costing Manager ensures accurate financial reporting and compliance with internal policies, monitors forecast accuracy, and drives corrective actions where required.Additionally, the role leads CAPEX planning and tracking from a cost perspective, conducts audits and risk assessments related to costing and inventory, and partners closely with plant leadership to enhance cost efficiency and support continuous improvement initiatives across the value chain.How Will You Make an Impact?Cost ManagementManage all plant-level accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls.Lead cost analysis initiatives to identify cost-saving opportunities and enhance plant financial performance.Conduct cost-benefit analyses for new projects and process improvements to support investment decisions.Oversee all cost accounting activities, including standard cost updates, variance analysis, and month-end closing.Monitor and analyze key cost-related KPIs such as labor efficiency, material consumption, and inventory levels.Maintain accurate product costing for both existing and newly launched products.Partner with senior management on pricing decisions and cost change approvals.Ensure timely completion of the monthly costing close calendar and deliverables.Provide meaningful financial insights to drive strategic decisions related to costing and operational efficiency.Collaboration & CommunicationCollaborate with Production, Supply Chain, Procurement, and other functions to optimize processes and control costs across the value chain.Support CAPEX evaluations, assessing impact on profitability and cash flow.Partner with Marketing and Procurement to validate accurate costing for new product launches.Promote awareness of cost drivers across Development, Sourcing, Marketing, and Finance teams.Own and communicate new or revised product pricing to ensure organizational alignment and transparency.Inventory ManagementOversee monthly inventory reconciliation, open production order aging reports, inventory aging reports, and consigned inventory (customer and vendor).Lead physical inventory counts and monitor cycle count programs across all business unit locations.ReportingPrepare and review periodic costing reports as per the reporting calendar.Deliver ad-hoc financial analyses and management reports as required.Budget ManagementOrganize and facilitate budget review sessions and cost application discussions.Guide the team in analyzing budget variances and recommending corrective actions.NPD (New Product Development) SupportCoordinate with Marketing and Manufacturing during new product development to ensure targeted profitability.Coaching & MentoringLead and mentor junior costing team members.Provide training on budgeting, pricing principles, and costing practices.Conduct periodic performance reviews and support team development planning.Special ProjectsCollaborate with senior management on ad-hoc initiatives aimed at improving financial performance at the business unit and company level.Qualifications, Experience & SkillsEducationBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Professional qualification preferred: CA, ACCA, CMA, or CPA.Experience7–8 years of experience in costing management within a manufacturing environment.Experience in FMCG or manufacturing environment is mandatory.Functional KnowledgeStrong understanding of accounting principles and practices.Knowledge of banking practices and financial processes.High level of accuracy and efficiency in data entry and financial reporting.Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle).Grow with Agthia – For the BetterAgthia Group is one of the region’s leading Food & Beverage companies, with a growing international footprint.
