ABOUT THIS ROLETo be in charge of business activities in Japan. As the Country Manager of the local subsidiary, he/she is responsible for turnover and profit of that subsidiary and needs to deliver results to the Japan headquarters. He/she will work for maximizing market penetration and ensure profitable transactions volumes and for the line management of the team. He/she also be responsible to comply with the current legislation, in particular the one related to anti-money laundering.ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIESGeneral Management:Prepare and implement the budget, country strategy and the business plan: he/she will develop and manage the implementation of the local strategy, ensuring the platform is created for successful business growth in both short and long term.Monitor the P&L and the country operation, delivering on transaction, EBIT and revenue targets: sets, manages and ensures achievement of regional budget in collaboration with line management, tracks and measures the regional P&L budgetMarketing and sales:Support local sales team and join them in the execution of the agent opening campaign throughout the country; Compile market general data and trends and develop those potential clients and corridors most extended in the Nordic marketsCompliance:Work along with the Compliance Department, ensuring full business policy and legal compliance with the local financial regulations. Together with Compliance Department, he/she liaises with regulatory agencies and other official bodies on issues related to anti money laundering laws and controls, as may be appropriate.Controlling and reporting:Approve internal proceduresAware permanently about key figures/ratioComment reports sent to Headquarters on weekly/monthly/quarterly basisPeople Management:Lead a diverse team (both multiethnic and from a skill perspective), developing succession and providing direction and guidelines to the members of his/her team.Supervise hiring/proposing candidates for key job applications/manage his team and takes care of the succession plan of key positions Decide on salaries within budget and propose key functionsAuthorize and/or supervise terminations of Management staffPOSITION REQUIREMENTSFluent in English in addition to local language with Japanese proficiency Deep knowledge of the sector, including existing network of contactsProfit and loss management PERKS & BENEFITSJapanese statutory benefits Health insuranceUnemployment insurancePaid vacation days Ria provided benefitsAnnual salary meritPerformance BonusEmployee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) Ria Money Transfer is an equal opportunity employer.
