Job DescriptionThe County of Grande Prairie is seeking a caring and compassionate individual with exceptional housekeeping and customer service skills.

The candidate will provide housekeeping, companionship and in home support to individuals, seniors and families who are experiencing aging, physical, mental or emotional disruptions by providing in-home support. A passion for people and for cleaning, a willingness to learn, along with strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential in this role. Although hours are not guaranteed, this casual position does require the applicant to be available to take on 4 clients and/or 12 hours per week when work is available. This position is located in the West County area. The incumbent will be required to primarily work in Beaverlodge area.

You may be required to work in Elmworth, Hythe, La Glace and surrounding areas in the County. Preference will be given to candidates who are currently residing in these areas.

QualificationsStrong housekeeping and social skillsThe physical ability to undertake housekeeping duties (ability to clean for extended periods each shift), and to stand/walk/climb stairsPhysical strength for lifting, and for heavier cleaning such as vacuumingAbility to travel on gravel roads in all road/weather conditionsAbility to assist with / prepare meals;Willingness to provide planned and short notice coverage for staff membersAbility to participate in meetings, workshops and training for professional developmentAbility to ensure the client's safety and comfort, which includes promoting the independence and mental well-being of the client in a respectful and compassionate mannerAbility to transport clients for appointments, shopping, etc.
