Job DescriptionThe Director, Global Corporate Communications, is responsible for developing, executing and evaluating corporate communications strategies including preparing proactive and reactive communications materials (e. g.
for investments and issues management), providing advice to internal asset management teams on portfolio companies and liaising with external partners. This person works with a global team to provide business leaders across all of our asset classes with expert advice, primarily in the UK and Europe. AccountabilitiesProvide strategic advice and counsel on critical issues to CPP Investments’ executives and investment teams to support and execute our enterprise and departmental mandate. Develop elements of communications at the enterprise, investment department and transactional level with a high degree of organization and attention to detail.
Ensure flawless execution of materials development and delivery. Support the ongoing development and management of the CPP Investments’ reputation, ensuring key messages and/or recommendations are developed, tested, and effectively presented to audiences across geographies. Conduct or consult the necessary analysis to present or inform recommendations. Some project managementQualificationsCollege or University degree in related field. Relevant experience in communications execution for private and public investments. Strong project management skills to ensure the efficient, timely and best-in-class delivery of communications strategies. Strong critical thinking, judgement, and the ability to communicate persuasively.
Strong writing, editing, and proofing skills and attention to detail. Relevant preferred experience includes time spent in public affairs and communications agencies or consultancies; or institutional investment management businesses or private equity. Strong, demonstrated knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Outlook. Experience with AI software (Copilot and ChatGPT) an asset.
