Welcome to the Disruption Company. As a Creative Director, you will be responsible for work produced on behalf of our clients, as well as any work created for our company, as the need may arise. You are required to conceptualise and/or supervise junior creative staff in order to ideate, produce and implement disruptive creative that solves our clients’ business problems, briefs or goals. You are also expected to maintain our company’s standards of creative excellence and, within reason, profitability.Key ResponsibilitiesIdeation + Strategic AcumenPartner to Business and Strategy Leads on the business, driving best in class creative work that delivers on results.Driver of the creative vision and the teams’ delivery of brave and effective work, provides clear creative direction on ideas so teams know how to move forward.Proactive in bringing new ideas / concepts on brands across industries.Driver of disruptive work that achieves synergy: Results oriented in both business and creative outputShape and drive direction of the agency and client businessesConstantly up skilling, proactively keeping up with trends in the creative / social / digital trends and best practices; know what works, how to incorporate these into campaigns, and how to evaluate their effectiveness.Constantly and strategically looking for opportunities to grow the client’s creative appetite.Execution / ProductionPassionate about craft, delivering work of the highest qualityLead creative productions on key projects and QC the work.Accountable for creative and effectiveness recognition at local and international awards competitions and new / existing business growth.Great time management - Proactive in foreseeing and flagging potential delays in the timeline, negotiating timelines, and ensures strict adherence to final timelines from working teams.Business AcumenSkilled in business and commercial acumen - i.e. Understanding how to operate in a cost efficient and profitable manner.Deep understanding of the clients’ and agency’s business, able to provide creative counsel to clients, establish objectives and plans to meet them.Constantly and creatively looking for opportunities to grow the business.Deep understanding of production costs. Effective in negotiating and aligning budgets before briefings happen, propose solutions and alternatives when required, and ensure the working team adheres to the budget.People ManagementFunction as a creative partner, advisor and creative relationship lead within and outside the team.Inspire and challenge integrated teams to deliver best-in-class creative ideas for our clients.Trusted creative consultant to C-suites - client and agency partners, partaking in constant conversations to map out creative spaces for their businesses.Inspire and motivate teams - i.e. leads with empathy, invests in people, steers the teams towards a common goal/vision etc.Successfully coach, train and develop performance of team members creating opportunities for growth and development throughout team.Fosters collaborative and positive relationships with the other department leads to find win-win solutions.LeadershipAgile in responding to changing external landscapes, able to take calculated risks.Exhibit thought leadership and networks i.e. leveraging personal branding, contributing to forums / discussions within the agency and the community at large.Play a valuable part in the creative department and add to it through inspiration and contribute to the growth of talent and culture.Job Specifications1. ProfessionalA minimum of 8 years working experience as a creativeMinimum 10 years relevant experience and knowledge of marketing and advertisingThorough and contemporary knowledge and understanding of the latest innovations, trends and developments in our industry.2. Knowledge and Skills RequiredCommercial and creative mindedExcellent relationship managementProficient in Microsoft Office and Mac applicationsSkilled and proficient in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator or Keynote andMicrosoft Word for writer-based Creative DirectorsLeadership experience in managing account management and creative teams including supervising, training, organising, prioritising and allocating of work assignments.The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed in this job.
