Credit Manager – Infrastructure & Project Finance (Nairobi)Location: NairobiPermanentOur client is a long-standing provider of credit solutions for infrastructure projects across the African continent. Their work spans renewable energy, transport, social infrastructure, housing, agribusiness and other essential sectors. The organisation is expanding its Nairobi team and is seeking a Credit Manager to take a lead role in evaluating and overseeing a broad range of transactions.This position calls for someone confident handling diverse, often one-of-a-kind projects and who brings meaningful experience assessing credit risk in African markets. The successful candidate will operate with genuine autonomy while working closely with investment colleagues.Key Duties: • Take ownership of credit assessment for new transactions across multiple African countries • Prepare well-structured credit papers that clearly communicate risks and recommendations • Undertake due diligence, including regional travel and site visits • Analyse financial, technical and operational risks and support the design of credit enhancement structures • Oversee existing exposures, monitoring performance and identifying emerging risks • Contribute to deal discussions as the dedicated credit voice on each transactionCandidate Profile: • Significant, demonstrable experience working on transactions within African markets is essential • Background in project finance or structured credit with exposure to varied sector types • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interrogate financial models • Experience producing high-quality written credit analysis • Able to navigate complex, bespoke deal structures with independence and clarity • French language capability is beneficial but not required • Willingness to travel within the region for due diligenceFor a confidential discussion about this opportunity, please get in touch.
