About the Role: We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Credit Risk Analyst to strengthen our Credit Risk team.
This role is central to safeguarding the company's financial integrity by ensuring merchants, vendors, and partners are appropriately assessed, monitored, and collateralized. You will be deeply involved in the entire risk lifecycle: Onboarding & Pre-Approval: assessing prospective merchants, reviewing business models, and negotiating collateral conditions Ongoing Monitoring: performing weekly settlements, monitoring exposures, and identifying anomalies Offboarding & Termination: managing credit risk when merchants exit and ensuring obligations are coveredThis position requires a balance of analytical rigor, operational precision, and sound judgment in negotiations and decision-making. Reporting to: Credit Risk ManagerWhat You'll Do:
Perform continuous assessment, monitoring, and management of credit risk across merchants, vendors, and partnersEnsure aggregated credit risk exposure is aligned with the company's risk appetite, proactively escalating deviations to stakeholdersHandle queries from prospective and existing merchants relating to financial and credit riskAssess and manage the financial risk exposure of third-party vendorsResolve risk-related issues with merchants, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulationsEnsure adherence to internal policies as well as card scheme rules and requirementsFacilitate merchant underwriting and onboarding assessments, including determining initial collateral requirementsReview and reassess collateral conditions for merchant funding, renegotiating terms when business or risk conditions changeProvide support for periodic and ad-hoc risk reviews, internal audits, and external audit requestsParticipate in weekly reviews of the settlement instructionsImplement automated solutions for credit risk analysis, account dormancy checks, and settlement monitoring to improve accuracy and efficiencyAssess and analyze third-party credit risk providers and recommend their integration into existing risk management frameworksAct as a subject-matter resource, educating colleagues and stakeholders across the organization to foster risk awareness and collaborationDrive continuous process improvement initiatives and share best practices to enhance the company's overall credit risk management frameworkWho you are:
You are experienced in B2B credit risk assessment across banking, acquiring, or insurance underwriting, bringing expertise from collateral-sensitive or complex sectors that add fresh insights to our team's approach. You demonstrate strong negotiation skills and the confidence to uphold prudent risk standards, while also being able to share knowledge and introduce new perspectives on credit risk practices. You thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment, balancing effective risk management with business growth priorities. What we are looking for:
3-5 years of experience in credit risk management within acquiring, banking, insurance, or B2B financial servicesStrong knowledge of financial statements, with the ability to calculate and interpret liquidity ratios, exposures, and capital adequacyBackground in merchant acquiring or POS transaction environments is highly desirableExperience in insurance underwriting for companies (B2B) is also relevantSolid understanding of risk frameworks, credit risk policies, and regulatory complianceDemonstrated experience in negotiating credit terms, collateral conditions, and financial holdsSoft Skills & QualitiesHighly organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple risk assessments simultaneouslyStrong numerical and analytical skills with precision in data handling and reportingProactive, responsible, and able to take full ownership of credit risk decisionsStrong communicator with the ability to collaborate across Settlement, Finance, AML, CDD, and Sales teamsResilient under pressure, with the ability to make well-reasoned decisions even in complex or time-sensitive situationsComfortable working with diverse business models and ensuring appropriate collateralizationCurious and continuously looking for ways to improve processes and automation.
