You will oversee a mix of Onboard Managers, Business and First-Class Flight Attendants, and Flight Attendants, ensuring high standards of safety, service, and performance are consistently met.This role will independently manage performance-related issues, with support and guidance from the Auckland-based team as needed. Key responsibilities include coaching and development, monitoring wellbeing including fatigue, injury and sickness, and managing day-to-day operational needs. The role requires occasional early starts, weekend work, and participation in a rotating on-call roster every 7 weeks to support emergencies or escalated situations. Collaboration across departments within the Qantas Group will also be essential to drive operational efficiency and support local initiatives that enhance crew performance and engagement.In addition, this role will oversee general base administration duties and provide support across various tasks, including uniform distribution, processing documents, coordinate and maintain crew facilities and ad hoc. This role also supports administrative tasks for Pilots based in Christchurch, under the guidance of the Flight Crew Operations Manager or a delegate.You’ll Have:Proven leadership experience within an aviation environment (preferred), managing a large and distributed workforceStrong ability to lead, motivate and influence individuals at all levelsDemonstrated capability to build effective teams and support skill developmentSkilled in facilitating collaboration across departments and driving change initiativesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to resolve issues promptly and professionallySound knowledge of employment and workplace laws, and confidence managing casework consistentlyStrong time management and organisational skills, with flexibility to adapt to operational demandsPassion for delivering exceptional customer service and supporting crew in a dynamic operational environmentWhy the Qantas Group?
