General Responsibilities Maintains batch control logs for Crowley bank accounts, including batching, balancing and applying cash to customer’s accounts (Oracle). Research unidentified payments up front by using various sub-systems (i. e. Equipment, Booking, and Documentation). Communicates with internal and external customers through phone or e-mail for resolving discrepancies (domestic or foreign) and for ensuring accurate cash posting and expedite cargo release.
Processing reapplies and redistributions from payments and other sources of credits. Researches to identify unapplied cash items by using available information. Contacts collectors for clarification when necessary. Follows up pending “On account” applications according to internal procedures and priority assignments. Performs research in order to respond to all internal and external customer’s inquiries. Performs any other duties and projects as assigned. EDUCATION: Formal training program after high school or an Associate Degree in Accounting or related field. EXPERIENCE: + year of accounting experience is preferred TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint .
Good understanding of transportation and accounting systems COMPETENCIES : Ability to communicate effectively verbally and writing. Ability to perform accurately in a detail oriented environment. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and work inteam. Ability to organize and perform multiple work assignments OTHER: Bilingual English/ Spanish is required. JOB SCOPE: Position impacts multiple business units/segments WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Extended use of computer keyboard and viewing of computer monitor and ability to sit for long periods of time. FLSA Status: The position is Non-Exempt.
