Customer Business Development Manager / National Key Accounts ManagerLocation: Southeast Los Angeles – Hybrid – 2 days in-officeIndustry: Food / CPG / Snacking / ConfectioneryTravel: 20-30%The Company:Our client is an International, established, fast-growing food / CPG company headquartered overseas, with a growing global presence.Their product portfolio spans confectionery, snacking and ready-to-eat innovative healthy alternatives, present in over 10 countries worldwide.Looking to expand their market-share in the USA, the company seeks a highly strategic and dynamic National Key Account Manager to lead business development and sales across the U.S. national grocery retail channel.The Opportunity: Be the driving force that brings their better-for-you brands to American families by growing sales, expanding store channel distribution, building strategic retail partnerships, and driving sustainable top and bottom line performance to deliver excellent execution that wins at shelf and in the hearts of U.S. consumers.As the National Key Account Manager for the U.S., you will own the end-to-end key account strategy for the companies U.S. grocery business. You will act as the lead commercial partner for major national grocery retailers, driving sales growth, building strong relationships, negotiating business terms, and executing account plans that align with our client ambitious growth objectives.You will work closely with cross-functional teams (marketing, category management, supply chain, finance) to ensure our client delivers differentiated value-added proposition to retailers and growth to the business.Job Duties & Responsibilities:Develop and implement sales strategies and execution to achieve aggressive revenue targets for major U.S. grocery chains (e.g., national and regional chains, club, discount, ethnic/grocery) with responsibility for revenue growth, profitability, and market share.Expand and strengthen store channel distribution for optimal product availability and visibilitySecure new lists, negotiate trade terms, pricing, and promotional agreements)Build and strengthen strategic retail partnerships through regular business reviews, collaborative growth planning, and relationship building-initiatives to unlock long-term opportunities.Cross-functional collaboration with marketing, supply chain and finance to align account strategies and deliver on targets.Monitor and analyze market trends and competitor activities, and adept strategies to win the marketLead and manage end-to-end retail channel business planning, sales performance, and profitability management to ensure operation excellence and sustainable growth.Qualifications & Competencies:Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA) preferred in business, marketing, or related field.7+ years of experience in national grocery retail key account management (FMCG / CPG category) in the U.S. market.Proven track-record of winning national grocery business, negotiating key retailer deals, driving sales growth and profitable margin improvement.Strong understanding of U.S. grocery retail channel dynamics (traditional grocery, club, discounter, ethnic groceries) and purchase/consumption trends.Strong commercial acumen: comfortable developing business plans, analyzing KPI data, building financial models, managing P&L.Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills: ability to work effectively at senior levels in retailer organizations.Highly self-motivated, results-oriented, with entrepreneurial mindset; comfortable working in a fast-growing company, adapting to change and ambiguity.Strong collaboration skills to work cross-functionally across regions and functions.
