This role focuses on facilitating Continuing Ongoing Training (COT) and Caregiver Pre-Service Training (CPT) to equip foster and adoptive caregivers with the knowledge and skills necessary to support children in their care effectively.The CWEP COT/CPT Instructor is responsible for delivering standardized training for foster parents as part of the Child Welfare Education Program (CWEP). This role focuses on facilitating Continuing Ongoing Training (COT) and Caregiver Pre-Service Training (CPT) to equip foster and adoptive caregivers with the knowledge and skills necessary to support children in their care effectively.The instructor ensures the consistent delivery of the curriculum, following established guidelines and meeting state and program standards. By fostering an engaging learning environment, the instructor supports participants in understanding key concepts and applying them to real-life caregiving situations.Key ResponsibilitiesFacilitate Caregiver Pre-Service Training (CPT) sessions to prepare prospective foster parents for their roles, covering topics such as child development, trauma-informed care, and state child welfare policies.Deliver Continuing Ongoing Training (COT) sessions for current foster parents, focusing on enhancing caregiving skills, addressing challenges, and staying updated on child welfare practices.Ensure consistent delivery of standardized curriculum while maintaining fidelity to program guidelines and objectives.Lead interactive training activities, including group discussions, case studies, and role-playing, to reinforce learning and practical application.Monitor participant engagement and understanding, providing encouragement and clarifications as needed.Maintain accurate training records, including attendance and participation, and submit required documentation in a timely manner.Collaborate with CWEP leadership to ensure training sessions align with program goals and participant needs.This role is integral to building a strong foundation for foster and adoptive caregivers, equipping them to provide safe, nurturing, and supportive homes for children in care.
