Cyber Security Engineer

Position OverviewThe Cyber Security Engineer works as part of the organization’s information security team to help safeguard computer networks and data from cyber threats. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates passionate about technology and eager to develop their expertise in cyber security. The engineer will assist with monitoring, investigating, and responding to security incidents while supporting the implementation of security controls and policies.What you get to do- Monitor network activity and security alerts using security information and event management (SIEM) tools.- Assist in conducting vulnerability scans and risk assessments across systems and applications.- Support incident response activities, including investigating security breaches and documenting findings.- Help implement and maintain firewalls, antivirus software, and other security solutions.- Participate in the creation and updating of security policies, procedures, and technical documentation.- Collaborate with senior engineers and IT teams to troubleshoot and remediate security issues.- Stay current with trends, threats, and technologies in the cyber security landscape.What you will need- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).- Understanding of basic networking concepts, operating systems, and security principles.- Familiarity with common security tools (e.g., antivirus, firewalls, SIEM platforms).- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.- Relevant certifications (such as CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA Security, or equivalent) are a plus.- Preferred Skills- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automating security tasks.- Exposure to cloud security concepts and technologies.- Basic knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS).This position offers significant opportunities for growth and learning.
