Italy is the Group’s Competence center for the design, production and delivery of Navigation Aids products and Competence Centre for the delivery of non-Radar Surveillance Products.Data Analyst & AI InternRole OverviewWe are seeking a motivated intern to support the data analysis and AI activities within our Operations team. You will contribute to the industrialization and enhancement of two MVP solutions:AI-powered Obsolescence Management Agent: Enhance and refine an agent that uses AI to monitor, predict, and manage component obsolescence;AI-driven Technical Manual Updater: Improve and deploy a solution that leverages AI to update technical manuals efficiently.This internship offers a unique hands-on opportunity to address real business challenges with AI, at the heart of our operational transformation.Key Responsibilities Work with the data analyst to review, validate, and industrialize AI MVP solutions on our local data center;Analyze system outputs, provide feedback, and use RAG, prompt engineering and fine tuning to implement adjustments for specific business requirements Interact with various information systems and data sources (including APIs and servers) to ensure seamless integration and reliable performance;Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical improvements;Support documentation, testing, and deployment processes to transition solutions from MVP to robust, maintainable products;Contribute to process automation and optimization, driving measurable efficiency improvements.RequirementsAdvanced studies (final year undergraduate or Master’s) in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field;Solid theoretical and practical knowledge of data analysis, statistics, and AI/machine learning techniques;Hands-on experience with AI frameworks such as ollama or llama.cpp Comfortable working with local LLMs, APIs, servers, and integrating disparate data sources;Hands-on experience with Python and popular data/AI libraries (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, pytorch, langchain, tensorflow);Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt solutions to the context of complex business operations;Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented, real-world environment;Curiosity and enthusiasm to tackle operational challenges with data-driven and AI-based approaches.At Thales we provide CAREERS and not only jobs.
