Data Architect

Role: Data ArchitectLocation: Remote /MexicaliJob DescriptionPosition Summary Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-grade data architecture for a strategic project . Ensure alignment with enterprise data standards and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions that enable advanced analytics and business insights. Key Responsibilities • Data Architecture & Design o Define and implement data architecture aligned with Client’s enterprise standards and future-state vision. o Develop and maintain logical and physical data models, data flow diagrams, and architecture artifacts. o Establish data lineage and traceability across systems, ensuring transparency from source to target. • Collaboration & Leadership o Partner with product managers, solution architects, and engineering teams to design solutions meeting business and analytical needs. o Provide technical leadership and mentoring to data engineers and solution architects during development and delivery phases. o Influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders to adopt best practices. • Data Governance & Compliance o Ensure compliance with data governance, security, privacy, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA). o Define and enforce metadata management, data cataloging, and data quality frameworks. • Technology & Tools o Evaluate and recommend tools, frameworks, and patterns for data ingestion, transformation, and storage. o Drive adoption of Azure analytics services (e.g., ADF), Databricks, and BI tools (Power BI, Microsoft BI Suite). • Performance & Optimization o Implement strategies for performance tuning, cost optimization, and scalability for large datasets. o Ensure high availability and disaster recovery plans for critical data systems. • Documentation & Standards o Create and maintain project-specific templates, data dictionaries, and API documentation. o Align with industry standards of data modelling standards (Kimball, Inmon, Data Vault). Required Skills & Qualifications• Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field. • Experience: Minimum 10+ years in data and analytics, with proven experience as a Data Architect on large-scale projects. • Technical Expertise: o Strong understanding of data integration, modelling, and architecture principles. o Hands-on experience with Data Mesh, data lakes, data warehouses, and Lakehouse architectures. o Proficiency in Spark, SQL, Python, data ingestion techniques, and metadata management. o Familiarity with ADF, Databricks, and BI tools. • Governance & Compliance: o Knowledge of data governance frameworks, security standards, and regulatory compliance (GDPR, CCPA). • Soft Skills: o Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. o Ability to mentor teams and influence cross-functional decisions. • Domain Knowledge: o Background in ERP, manufacturing, engineering, or supply chain; SAP experience is a plus. Preferred Certifications • Azure Data Engineer/Architect, or equivalent.
