With over 12 billion die in stock, Rochester can manufacture over 70,000 device types.General SummaryThe Data Assurance Engineer is responsible for identifying and mapping location and storage methods as well as data flow and end-to-end processes across the business ecosystem. This position documents and oversees the organization and storage of data, documents the utilization of (both user and system) data, and marks and tags data for effective data management, control, and auditing. Serve a critical role to ensure integrity, security, and availability of enterprise data to support various data retention and data destruction obligations. Professionally interface with stakeholders at various levels and locations across the Company. This may be hybrid role with onsite presence required as needed or determined to support the Company.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop and implement a Data Management and Classification program including identifying, labeling, and metadata tagging to enable consistent, efficient and effective governance of Company data with a focus on Manufacturing and Quality data. Develop consistent systems and solutions to efficiently support Manufacturing and Quality data retention and destruction requirements. Develop, document, and optimize data models to support analytics and business intelligence applications.Create and document data locations and flows at various levels (Architectural, Summary, Application level, etc.).Collaborate on the design and implementation of corporate data architectures with an emphasis on Manufacturing and Quality areas that support current and future data needs. Implement and monitor data handling practices, compliance validation, quality checks, and cleansing processes. Enforce data governance standards to support data security, compliance, and integrity as well as implement access control processes. Ensure solutions, policies, processes comply with frameworks and data regulations (such as GDPR, CUI, CMMC) and implement robust security measures. Verify availability, and enable cost optimization by implementing data de-duplication, archiving and enforcement of written policies and procedures. Work closely across the Company including Manufacturing, Quality, Applications, and other business stakeholders to understand data requirements, provide technical guidance, and deliver effective solutions. Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of data sources, pipelines, data flows, and processes to ensure transparency, repeatability, and knowledge sharing within the organization. Other duties as required.Research emerging IT technologies both within and outside of Data Assurance and Data Availability in Cyber Security:Determine if any may fit or address a gap in the businessTest and evaluate potential candidatesIdentify potential/new risks posed by other Company processes and technologiesQualificationsRequire bachelor’s degree in information technology, Data Analytics or other related field, advanced Information Technology degree a plusMinimum 7 years prior information technology, including 2+ years of experience in IT Data Management, IT Data Security or similar disciplineIntermediate experience with scripting languages including Python and PowershellExperience with Varonis, Purview, other Data Assurance/Data Loss toolsGood understanding of both structured and unstructured dataGood understanding of Data architecture, modeling, and storage methodologies including SQL, Data WarehousesHands on experience working in a hybrid Data environment including Integration methodologies that traverse network boundaries.
