As an Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing storage and backup solutions for our clients, ensuring the security and availability of their data.Key responsibilities: Design and implement scalable and reliable storage architectures, including SAN, NAS, and object storage systems.Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies, ensuring data integrity, compliance, and timely restoration in case of system failures or data loss.Configure and optimize backup software and hardware solutions, including disk and cloud-based backup services.Monitor storage systems and backups to identify performance issues, capacity constraints, and potential risks, and take proactive measures to address them.Conduct regular backup testing and verification to ensure the recoverability of data and maintain backup documentation and procedures.Plan and execute data migration projects, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal downtime.Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise for storage and backup-related issues, working closely with internal teams to resolve problems in a timely manner.Document system configurations, processes, and procedures, and create technical reports and presentations as needed.Profile:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Experience (2+ years) as a Datacenter Engineer, specializing in storage and backup solutions.Strong knowledge of storage technologies, including SAN, NAS, and object storage systems.Experience with backup technologies and methodologies, such as disk-based backups, tape libraries, and cloud-based backup services.Familiarity with backup software and tools, such as Veeam, Varonis, and Cohesity.Understanding of data deduplication, replication, and encryption techniques.Knowledge of storage protocols and standards, including iSCSI, Fibre Channel, NFS, and SMB/CIFS.Familiarity with disaster recovery planning and execution.Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation and monitoring tasks is a plus.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex storage and backup issues effectively.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients and internal teams.Relevant certifications (e.g., EMC Proven Professional, Veeam Certified Engineer) are highly desirable.Fluent in English, both spoken and written, Dutch is considered a plus.
