Data Engineer – AI & Data Platforms

We build platform solutions for engineers, help our clients get AI-ready, and create environments where technology supports real business value.What You’ll DoIn this role, you’ll be part of client teams designing and building modern data platforms that enable reliable decisions and AI adoption. Your work will make sure that data is trustworthy, accessible, and ready to deliver value quickly.You will:Build and maintain data pipelines that support both analytics and AI/ML use casesWork with data in different forms — structured, unstructured, streaming — and design models that make sense for the client’s needsImplement data storage solutions (warehouse, lake, lakehouse) with the right balance of scalability, cost, and securityEnsure reliability and trust in data flows through testing, monitoring, and governanceCollaborate closely with data scientists, ML engineers, and client stakeholders to make sure data can be used in practice, not just theorySupport deployment and monitoring of AI/ML models, helping clients turn experiments into production-ready solutionsBe part of shaping Polar Squad’s approach to AI & Data Platforms, influencing tools, methods, and ways of workingWhat We’re Looking ForMust-havesStrong experience with Python (or similar) and SQL for building pipelinesKnowledge of modern data platforms: warehouses (Databricks, BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift), lakes, or lakehousesWork in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) with data and AI workloadsExperience with ETL/ELT and orchestration (Airflow, dbt, Prefect, Dagster, or similar)Understanding of data modeling and schema design for analytics and MLFamiliarity with deploying or supporting AI/ML workflows in productionNice-to-havesExperience with real-time data (Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub)Knowledge of observability and lineage tools (e.g. OpenTelemetry, Monte Carlo)Awareness of privacy and compliance needs (GDPR, security best practices)Why this role mattersClients come to us because they want to move faster with data and AI, but they often lack the foundations.
