Data Engineer

Maket is building the Architectural Brain — a generative AI platform that empowers anyone to design, customize, and bring architectural floorplans to life with ease.We’re looking for a Data Engineer to join our Product team and take ownership of internal tools. This is a hands-on role for someone eager to work across multiple parts of the business — from integrating APIs and cleaning datasets to improving analytics and automating workflows.Compensation: TBD based on experience and fit.Location: Montreal.What You’ll BuildYou’ll help power the Architectural Brain from behind the scenes — building the internal tools, integrations, and data pipelines that make everything run smoothly.Design, build, and maintain internal tools that support Maket’s teams.Clean, organize, and maintain high-quality datasets for AI model training.Build dashboards, analytics tools, and automations to guide better product decisions.Support cross-team initiatives across Product, AI, and Growth.About YouYou’re curious by nature and love diving into data and APIs.You’re a self-starter and require minimal direction.You’re comfortable working across the stack — from frontend UIs to backend scripts.You move quickly, but know how to keep the quality bar high.Dev StackMust-Have ExperienceLanguages: JavaScript / TypeScriptFrontend: React, Tailwind CSSBackend: Node.js, PostgresAPIs & Data: REST / GraphQL, JSON handling, data transformationAnalytics: Posthog or other BI toolsAutomation: Zapier, Airflow, or similar orchestration frameworksNice-to-HavesData Tools: Python, SQL, Pandas, or similar librariesInfrastructure: AWS or GCPRequirements1–3 years of experience as a developer (internships and side projects count!).Solid understanding of web technologies and APIs.Demonstrated experience working with data — whether through personal projects or prior work.A portfolio, GitHub, or examples that show your initiative and craftsmanship.
