We collect and harmonize billions of data points from major delivery platforms (Lieferando, Uber Eats, Wolt) and feed them into our ML algorithms to power an AI Co-pilot that helps restaurants build and execute marketing strategies in real-time.This is a rare opportunity to join a startup with proven founders, real traction (3,500+ restaurants), and clear value proposition. As one of our early data engineers, you’ll own core infrastructure, shape our technical direction, and tackle interesting challenges at the intersection of data engineering, ML, and real-time operations.The RoleWe’re looking for a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain the data pipelines that fuel our machine learning models and enable thousands of restaurants to make data-driven decisions every day.What you will do • Design and build production-grade data pipelines using Cloud Composer (Airflow), dbt, and GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub)• Implement robust data quality checks and monitoring to ensure accuracy and reliability across our data platform• Optimize data models in BigQuery for analytical workloads and ML feature engineering• Collaborate with ML Engineers to build feature pipelines and deploy models to production (MLOps)• Write clean, maintainable Python code for custom data transformations, API integrations, and automation• Monitor and troubleshoot pipeline performance, proactively identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions• Document data architecture, workflows, and operational runbooks• Contribute to data engineering best practices as we scaleWhat we are looking for • 2-5 years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering• Strong proficiency in Python for data processing and automation• Hands-on experience with dbt for data transformation and modeling• Experience with Apache Airflow (or Cloud Composer) for orchestrating data workflows• Solid understanding of SQL and data modeling concepts• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and in teams and to communicate clearly•EU work authorization required (we do not sponsor visas at this time)Nice-to-Have Skills• Experience with RESTful APIs and third-party platform integrations• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Pulumi)• Familiarity with MLOps practices: model deployment, monitoring, feature stores• Understanding of data quality frameworks (Great Expectations, Soda)• Experience with streaming technologies (Pub/Sub, Kafka, Dataflow)• Previous experience with GCP / GCP Professional Data Engineer certificationOur Tech StackData & ML: Cloud Composer (Airflow), dbt, Python, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Vertex AIOther: TypeScript, Docker, Kubernetes, Pulumi, GCPWhat We Offer• Impact: Join early and shape a platform used by thousands of restaurants across Europe• Technology: Build scalable ML-powered infrastructure using modern data tools on GCP• Hybrid work: Flexible balance between our Berlin office and home office• Leadership access: Work directly with our founders and senior engineering team• Time off: 27 days vacation plus German public holidaysHow to apply?Apply via LinkedIn
