About the jobStartupHeroes is looking for Data Engineer to build and design robust and scalable data pipelines, and improve the performance and reliability of our current data infrastructure.We build data-intensive apps using reliable tools that our team knows and trusts, Kubernetes, Java, Kafka, Airflow, GCP, AWS, Elasticsearch, and MySQL. Expertise or having familiriaty in these areas is a huge plus. We’re a collaborative team who genuinely enjoys working together with a cross-functional team of product managers, data analysts, data scientists, and other development teams. If this sounds like a good fit for you, why not say hello?What you will be doingYou'll brainstorm with other team members to conceptualize and build new features for our products.You’ll produce high-quality data pipelines by contributing heavily to team projects that have a significant impact on the business.You’ll actively own team features or systems and define their long-term health, while also improving the health of surrounding systems.You'll assist our skilled support team and operations team in triaging and resolving production issues.What you should haveYou’ve been building robust data pipelines professionally for 0+ years. Experience as a data engineer is a plus.You have familiarity with functional or imperative programming languages -- e.g., PHP, Python, Ruby, Go, C, or Java.You have familiriaty with or interest in technologies like Apache Kafka, Apache Airflow, Google Cloud BigQuery, Elasticsearch.You have hands on experience with Spring Boot.You have strong analytical skills and firm understanding of relational and non-relational database systems.You write understandable, testable code with an eye towards maintainability.You are a strong communicator. You possess strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, programming languages, distributed systems, and information retrieval.You have completed a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience.
