Our mission is to design and implement a robust, scalable, and secure data architecture that enables long-term data asset building and drives knowledge-based management across the organization.As a Data Platform Architect, you will have the opportunity to influence YIT’s data strategy and technical landscape, working closely with business and IT stakeholders to deliver solutions that matter. You will play a key role in making YIT’s data assets more accessible and valuable, leading initiatives to enhance data discoverability, improve metadata management, and ensure that business users can easily find and trust the data they need. Main ResponsibilitiesAct as a trusted partner for business and IT in all matters relating to data platform strategic planning and development, including data ingestion, structuring, storage, and sharing for analytics and AI development.Lead initiatives to improve data quality, discoverability, semantics capture, and usability, including boosting YIT’s metadata management capabilities with a data catalog solution to support stakeholders such as BI developers, Business Analysts, and AI developers.Communicate Data Platform data assets to various stakeholders, including business teams.Lead the design and implementation of a centralized, scalable, and secure Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) architecture using technologies such as Snowflake and Agile Data Engine.Lead the development and maintenance of data models following best practices (Data Vault 2.0).Collaborate and lead data engineers and other stakeholders (ELT/ETL, BI, and AI developers) to ensure optimal data delivery and platform consistency. Provide technical leadership and guidance to the data team.Lead the automation of granting user roles and access levels according to policies set by Data Owners.Set policies and structures for handling confidential and sensitive data on the data platform.Lead optimization of data platform performance and cost. Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance.Support agile development through the SAFe framework. QualificationsAbility to understand the business value of data and communicate effectively with stakeholders.Proven experience as a Data Architect, Data Engineer, or similar role with a focus on EDW.Strong expertise in SQL, Data Vault methodology, and data modeling techniques.Deep understanding of cloud-based data platforms and technologies such as Snowflake, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Agile Data Engine (ADE), Azure Data Lake and Purview.Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Looker) is considered as an asset.Knowledge of other cloud-based data platforms and technologies is valued. Note that you do not have to have exact tech stack to apply.Understanding of AI-related technologies and capabilities, with the ability to support the development and implementation of AI solutions (deep expertise not required).Knowledge of industry-leading data catalog, data quality, and data protection practices.Comfortable working in an agile and international environment.Expertise in vendor management.MSc degree in computer science or equivalent.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Excellent communication, facilitation, and collaboration skills.Fluency in English and Finnish.Understanding of construction, built environment, and/or urban development is a bonus.
