Reporting functionally to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors of Temasek Holdings, and administratively to the CEO, Internal Audit helps Temasek accomplish its objectives by bringing a risk-based, systematic and disciplined approach to efficiently evaluate and improve the effectiveness of its risk management, internal controls and governance processes.  This intern will support the Internal Audit (IA) team in executing data analytics, data sciences, and automation projects and related initiatives to enhance the way audits are conducted and take part in the team’s transformation efforts. They will be responsible for designing and testing data solutions, piloting new and innovative technologies, and playing a key role in modernizing IA at Temasek.ResponsibilitiesPerform data extraction and transformation from various sources (structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data)Design data models and execute data analytics procedures to identify trends, anomalies, and insights to support audit processesExplore the application of natural language processing, unstructured data analytics, and other machine learning techniques to enhance audit proceduresExperiment with innovative technologies such as generative AI (GenAI) and data platforms such as Snowflake to modernize how audits and related efforts are performedCollaborate with team members to develop reporting and operational dashboards and data applicationsThe incumbent will be able to gain the following competencies:Experience in working with SaaS data cloud and reporting technologies such as Snowflake and TableauReal-world business application of data analytics/sciences, intelligent automation, machine learning, and GenAIExperience in driving process alignment, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaborationGain knowledge about audit methodology, risk monitoring, understanding of business processes, controls, and systemsRequirementsCurrently pursuing a degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, AI)Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsProficiency in data extraction, transformation, and analysis using programming languages such SQL, PythonProficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)Strong communication skills and ability to articulate and present work effectivelyHighly professional and discreet, able to maintain confidentiality on projects, especially when dealing with sensitive informationDetail-oriented, organized, able to manage multiple tasks effectivelyExperience working with various types of large and complex datasets, both structured (e.g. transactions, logs) and unstructuredExperience with large language models (LLM), GenAI use case development, prompt engineering, natural language processing (NLP) techniques and algorithms, unstructured data analysis and text miningStrong interest in exploring the application of GenAI and use of LLMs within the audit domainAudit, risk, or fraud investigation related experienceInterpersonal SkillsAbility to work effectively with team members in a collaborative environment, actively contribute ideas, and be pleasant to work withIntellectual curiosity and eagerness to learnCapable of working autonomously, taking initiative, and managing time efficiently to meet deadlinesStrong sense of ownership, demonstrates accountability, and strives for high-quality outcomes
