If yes, this could be the next exciting step in your career! Join our Data and Analytics Team in VilniusWe are looking for a junior Data Scientist, preferably with some hands-on experience (work experience or a structured internship) in generative AI to join our growing team in the beautiful city of Vilnius (location is fixed). You’ll be working with applied AI, supporting the design, develop, and maintenance of intelligent solutions that create real-world impact for our customers and business value for COWI.On a day-to-day basis, you will be required to:Assist in developing and refining data science and AI-assisted prototypes under guidance from senior colleagues. Prepare and explore datasets (ingestion, cleaning, feature engineering) and run baseline models to support business use cases. Help design small experiments, analyse results, and present concise summaries to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Work with the team to package notebooks, tests, and simple APIs for deployment. Follow agreed practices for documentation, data governance, model monitoring, and responsible AI usage. Proactively learn new tools and methods, seeking feedback to improve code quality, reproducibility, and impact.  Your skills. Our team. To succeed in this position, we believe that you should be a team player with result-oriented and focus on high quality, self-motivated, open and engaged.Furthermore, you bring:A Bachelor’s (or near completion of a Master’s) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Maths, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience (e.g., internships, projects). Up to 1–2 years’ experience from internships, placements, or junior roles; exposure to generative AI (e.g., OpenAI/Azure OpenAI) is a plus. A solid grounding in machine learning and statistics; awareness of deep learning fundamentals. Confidence with Python and core data libraries (pandas, scikit-learn); familiarity with PyTorch or TensorFlow is beneficial. Good coding habits: clear notebooks/scripts, readable documentation/READMEs, use of Git, and basic testing. Basic SQL and data-wrangling skills; comfort working with APIs and JSON is helpful. Exposure to Azure; familiarity with AWS or GCP is advantageous. Curiosity, collaboration, and motivation to solve real problems with data. Clear written and verbal communication in English; able to explain results simply to different audiences. Nice to have: basics of Docker; awareness of orchestration (Kubernetes), workflow scheduling (Airflow), and introductory MLOps/Responsible AI practices.  A place to work and so much moreAt COWI, we work together with our customers to shape a sustainable and liveable world.
