Job Description

Full-TimeEssential FunctionsProvides for the safety, stability and well-being of children and families during the referral periodDelivers culturally competent services using a strengths-based approach to children and families consistent with the evidence-based practice modelsMeets DCF timelines to connect with the family and facilitate the initial family meetingEngages and works in partnership with the case manager and family to complete assessmentsResponds to calls and client emergencies as needed including being on-call and working some weekends and public holidays as necessaryMeets with clients at least once a week to offer one-on-one supportDevelops recovery plans, coping methods and rehabilitation services with the clientFacilitates treatment assessments and referrals and provides client support in arranging for medical appointments, counseling, support groups and other resources as neededMonitors the client's behavior, schedule, medication and activities and reports any unusual behavior, conflicts or recovery deviations to the relevant professionalsProvides transportation and resources and coordinates community support services as neededJob may require the employee to be able to regularly drive to various DCCCA locations and other business locations throughout the day or night as requiredOther duties as assignedEducation, Experience, And LicensureA high school diploma or equivalent is requiredMust have lived experience with substance abuse, treatment and recovery with a minimum of two years of continuous recoveryRequires knowledge of recovery resources and has experience interacting with individuals seeking recoveryPersonal experience with child welfare preferredMust possess a valid state Driver's License, in force automobile liability insurance, and maintain a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets organization's insurability standard as defined by DCCCA policy.

Availability of reliable transportation is required for this position. Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesRequires overall computer knowledge and proficiency with the following: Computerized data base programsSpreadsheet programsWord processing programsRequires the ability to efficiently operate office equipment such as: Computerized e-mail systemsCalculators, copiers, fax machinesTelephones and voicemail systemsEffective listening, oral, and written communication skills, including face-to-face, on-site, in person discussions. Exercises appropriate use of positive language. Regular and predictable on-site attendance. Proficiency with computers and Microsoft suite of products including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Ability to efficiently operate other office equipment such as telephones, voicemail systems, copy and fax machines, and scanners. TravelThis position requires travel, which may include driving personal or company-owned vehicles. It may also include driving with other passengers in the vehicle, and/or driving as a passenger with other drivers. Note: Even with a valid driver's license, certain motor vehicle infractions may render individual's ineligible to drive company-owned or personal vehicles for company business. Such infractions may also disqualify employees from continued employment with DCCCA, Inc. This position is considered to be a safety-sensitive position.
