As a Research Engineer Intern at Dessa, you will help create novel deep learning systems with the capability to perform tasks that were once considered unattainable. You will be fully remote and report into our Dessa AI Research Lead.You WillWork with Research Scientists and Engineers to help design and develop novel generative AI models and systems Contribute to ideas to improve existing deep learning systemsDevelop software to process, clean, evaluate data to train deep learning systemsLearn foundational deep learning and catch up to the latest in deep learning researchYou HavePursuing degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, Statistics or related technical field, and graduating between May 2026 and May 2027.A passion for deep learningProficiency with PythonAn understanding of general data manipulation Command of probability and statisticsExperience with rapid prototyping using public, open-source libraries and APIsA capacity to create order out of chaos and work on problems without clear-cut solutionsOpenness and enthusiasm towards working with a diverse group of peopleWe Are Excited About Individuals Who HaveA foundational understanding of deep learningHands-on experience in developing and training neural networks using frameworks such as PyTorch, JAX or TensorFlowExperience training generative models like LLMs, or image/audio generationTechnologies We Use and TeachPythonNumPyPytorch and JAXWe’re working to build a more inclusive economy where our customers have equal access to opportunity, and we strive to live by these same values in building our workplace.
