This role involves preparing ingredients, executing basic cooking techniques, and assisting with the smooth flow of kitchen operations. A key part of the culinary team, the Demi Chef de Partie upholds food quality and hygiene standards. Assists in the preparation and execution of dishes in the assigned section. Ensures mise en place is ready ahead of service. Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of the station. Follows recipe and plating standards consistently. Complies with all food safety and hygiene standards. Assists the Chef de Partie in supervising Commis Chefs or trainees. Labels and stores ingredients properly following “first in and first out” and safety protocols. Reports equipment malfunctions or stock shortages to the section head. Participates in kitchen cleaning schedules and deep cleaning routines. Supports smooth service during busy periods and shift changeovers. Qualifications Completed culinary school training, food preparation internship, or apprenticeship. With at least five (5) years experience is preferred. Food Handler’s Certificate in accordance with local health regulations. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English. Basic knowledge of kitchen operations.
