Job DescriptionThe American University of Iraq, Baghdad (AUIB) College of Dentistry is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dental Clinics Manager to lead and oversee daily clinical operations. This role is critical in supporting high standards of clinical education, patient care, and operational efficiency within our new state-of-the-art dental clinics. Working closely with faculty, staff, and students, the Dental Clinics Manager will play a key role in fostering an environment of clinical excellence and continuous improvement.Position OverviewThe Dental Clinics Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations, administration, and logistics of the dental clinics. The role requires a combination of clinical knowledge, organizational ability, and leadership to ensure smooth workflows, high-quality patient care, and compliance with healthcare standards. This individual will support the College of Dentistry’s mission by working closely with academic and clinical leaders to integrate education and clinical practice.Key Responsibilities Clinical Operations and ManagementOversee daily clinical operations to ensure patient-centered, efficient workflows.Implement and maintain clinic policies, procedures, and protocols that align with healthcare regulations and university standards.Coordinate clinical schedules, patient appointments, and resource allocation.Support and collaborate with faculty and clinical staff to maintain high levels of clinical service and training.Quality Assurance and ComplianceMonitor the quality of care delivered and implement quality assurance procedures.Ensure compliance with local and international healthcare regulations and dental practice standards.Maintain accurate records, including patient files, incident reports, and audit documentation.Oversee patient satisfaction initiatives and address feedback.Educational and Clinical SupportAssist faculty in integrating clinical education into practice and student rotations.Ensure that students receive proper orientation, supervision, and support during clinical training.Coordinate with academic leadership to align clinic activities with educational goals.Facilitate communication between clinical staff, students, and academic teams.Strategic and Operational DevelopmentSupport the expansion of clinical services, including specialized clinics, faculty practice, and outreach programs.Contribute to operational planning, budgeting, and resource management for clinic sustainability.Liaise with external healthcare providers and vendors to ensure smooth operations and access to resources.Ideal Candidate ProfileMinimum of 8–10 years of experience in clinical dentistry, with at least 3–5 years in clinic management or a related administrative role.Proven ability to manage clinical operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead diverse teams.Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.Demonstrated ability to work in academic or healthcare settings, preferably in an international or multicultural environment.Solid understanding of dental clinical workflows, patient scheduling, and support services.Commitment to high standards of patient care, clinical education, and service delivery.Preferred: experience working in the Middle East or familiarity with the region.Education and Experience RequirementsDoctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD), or equivalent from an accredited institution.Additional qualifications (e.g., MBA, MPH, or specialty training) are an advantage.Demonstrated success in supporting clinical education and patient care initiatives.Familiarity with American university systems and standards in healthcare education is preferred.Research or academic scholarship experience is a plus.About UsWhy AUIB?Diversity and Inclusivity: At AUIB, we champion diversity and inclusivity in every aspect of campus life.
