The Office of the Valuer-General (OVG) is an independent Office within the department. The Valuer-General is the State’s independent authority on property valuations, responsible for the delivery of fair and equitable statutory valuations for all properties in South Australia – in accordance with the Valuation of Land Act 1971.

The RoleThis is an exciting 12-month contract opportunity to develop your valuation career pathway. This role provides a range of administrative, technical and valuation support to a team of professional valuers and senior administration staff through research, document preparation, coordination and reporting. Responsibilities also include, but are not limited to, assisting the team in monitoring of incoming enquiries, meeting and event coordination, records management and stakeholder engagement.

About YouOVG is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic team player with excellent communication skills and a passion for the property industry. This role would ideally suit an individual that is currently pursuing, or recently completed, a tertiary qualification in a property related field. To be successful in this position, you should be able to demonstrate experience across the following key responsibilities: Ability to work under pressure and deal with multiple competing priorities. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Experience in the use of Microsoft Office products.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and deal with issues of a sensitive and/or political nature. Desirable QualificationCurrently pursuing a tertiary qualification in a property related field (i. e. Bachelor of Business (Property) or Economics or similar). Special ConditionsSuccessful applicants may be required to obtain a satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check prior to employment. A renewal will be required every 3 years. Some out of hours and weekend work may be required. Some intra/interstate travel may be required. RemunerationASO2 – $58,709 min – $63,154 max.
