UP Professional and Support DEPARTMENT: TUKSSPORTPOST TITLE: SPORTS FACILITIES MANAGERPEROMNES POST LEVEL: 7In pursuit of the ideals of excellence and diversity, the University of Pretoria wishes to invite applications for the following vacancy.The University of Pretoria's commitment to quality makes us one of the top research Universities in the country and gives us a competitive advantage in international science and technology development.ResponsibilitiesThe incumbent will be responsible for:Operational management of the TuksSport Facilities which includes facility planning and supervision, maintenance, financial and human resource management, projects and events management, and facility-booking processes;Strategic management and planning of TuksSport Facilities in alignment with UP Facilities Management Strategic Vision;Compliance with Joint Operations Committee (JOC), Occupational Health and Safety, Safety at Sports and Recreational Act and other applicable legislation, regulations and policies.Income generation through hosting projects and events on the TuksSport Facilities.Minimum RequirementsDegree in Management Sciences, Sport Management or a related fieldAt least four years of experience in the following areas:▪ Sport Facility Management▪ Event Management▪ Financial Management and AdministrationCode 8 Driver’s licenseRequired Competencies (skills, Knowledge And Behavioural Attributes)Advanced knowledge of sport facility management operations and maintenance;Advanced knowledge of applicable facility management laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures;Advanced knowledge of compliance with facility maintenance contractual agreements and obligations;Good communication skills (verbal and written);Computer literacy in MS Office packages and emails.Added Advantages And PreferencesPostgraduate Diploma/Honour degree in Management Sciences, Sport Management or a related field.Project, Facilities or Events Management qualificationFive years’ experience in sport at a tertiary institution, national or provincial sport federation or similar and comparable organisation in the public and/or private sector.The annual remuneration package will be commensurate with the incumbent’s level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines.
