Who We Are Looking ForThe primary focus of this role is to serve as an expert in Depositary controls executed from Poland, aligning with the company's strategy and resources in the Poland location. The individual in this position must possess a deep understanding of the regulated funds lifecycle, regulations related to Depositary duties, and exceptional leadership skills. Under supervision of Depositary Manager, the Operations Specialist will engage in various projects, special analysis and initiatives relating to technical aspects of the business.Depositary is an EMEA specific regulatory function with fiduciary duty to the end investor.European investment funds, whether UCITS or AIF, must appoint a Depositary in accordance with the UCITS and AIFM Directives. The Depositary is responsible for the safekeeping of the investment fund’s assets and therefore ensures separation of those assets from the management of the fund. In addition, the depositary is required to perform oversight functions and, in this way, oversees certain activities of the fund manager such as valuation of the fund assets and monitoring of fund cash flows.This role can be performed in a hybrid model, where you can balance work from home and office to match your needs and role requirements.Why this role is important to usYou will be joining the Institutional Services function that allows us to deliver a comprehensive, holistic approach to each client relationship — for asset managers and asset owners, insurance companies, and official institutions globally. It means our client-facing functions work together to bring the very best solutions and services the firm has to offer — across all of our locations, products, and capabilities.Join us if making your mark on the long-lasting client relationships we build is a challenge you are up for.What You Will Be Responsible ForAs Depositary Operations Specialist you will:Monitor Cash flowsLook after Safekeeping of financial instrumentsLook after ownership verification and record keeping & reconciliation of other assetsOversight subscriptions and redemptionsReview asset valuation and calculation of NAVMonitor settlement of asset transactionsControl of income distributionsEnsure effectiveness of operational procedures and controlsIdentify issues and problems in service delivery and carry out necessary corrective actionInitiate process improvement, coordinate end-to-end process changesTake part as a technical expert when developing, testing, and implementing new tools and/or products that support ongoing business changesProvide technical support to Depositary team membersAct as central point of contact for technical issues encountered in the daily businessWhat We ValueThese skills will help you succeed in this roleExcellent communication, organizational and planning skills.Ability to work with deadlines in a fast paced environment.Project management skills.Ability to proactively work under own initiative.Attention to detail and concern for quality.Education & Preferred QualificationsOverall knowledge of and minimum 4+ years of experience in investment funds operations, financial instruments and fund valuation processesKnowledge of UCITS & AIFM directive and its delegated measuresProved record of process improvements / simplificationsFluency in English, Polish, numeracy skillsExperience with VBA/Power Query/Xceptor/SQL/Python would be an advantageAccountancy or Business related degree (preferred)Comprehensive knowledge of systems, including Microsoft Office applications is requireAbout State StreetAcross the globe, institutional investors rely on us to help them manage risk, respond to challenges, and drive performance and profitability.
